After many years of being one of Nashville’s top touring and studio musicians, Perley’s goal to be a solo artist is in full swing.
Years on the road gave Perley a keen sense for what he wanted in his own touring band. His band consists of some of Nashville’s best seasoned players who share Perley’s appreciation for real, traditional country music.
Born and raised in Maine his early music career was playing Bluegrass all over the Northeast.
After moving to Nashville in 1988, his great talent as a steel guitar and Dobro player immediately made him a very sought after sideman. Perley spent years working with country music legends Charlie Louvin, Connie Smith, Becky Hobbs, Holly Dunn, The Reno Brothers, and for six years, as a member of Loretta Lynn’s legendary band “The Coal Miners.” In 1990 Perley was the recipient of the First Annual Dick Curless Award in recognition of his outstanding achievements as a musician and entertainer. Perley was inducted to the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame in 2011.
In addition to playing shows across the country and spinning classic country hits of yesteryear on his weekly WSM AM 650 Radio program, Perley enjoys hosting his hit RFD-TV show ‘Perley’s Place’. Thousands of traditional country music fans are tuning in every week to watch Perley and his band with their special guests including Darryl Worley, Jimmy Fortune, Donna Ulisse, Leona Williams, Paulette Carlson, and ‘Willie’s Roadhouse’ personality Dallas Wayne, just to name a few.
